Recently our District Manager Jason Kesling witnessed the need for wildlife escape ramps when he inspected a livestock trough that had 15 drowned chipmunks floating in the water (not the most appetizing water for cattle to drink from, either).

The SWCD has an inventory of stock tank ramps for sale to landowners. We have 20 small (square troughs, 20 inch), 30 12ft tire (38 inch) and 15 13ft tire (48 inch) ramps. We are selling them at 75% of cost.  They are made of metal mesh and will provide sure footing for animals who have fallen into water troughs, and not get slimy like ones made of wood.
