Enjoying Harney County’s Great Outdoors

Posted on 05.05.21 by Harney SWCD

Scientific studies have shown that being outdoors can help you physically and mentally.  Harney County has some of the best places to offer–quiet and sparsely populated.  The weather is finally getting consistently pleasant and wildflowers are blooming.  Now is a good time to go outside and enjoy it all before the summer fire dangers.

Idlewild Park is about 20 minutes from Burns on Hwy 395.  It’s perfect for a picnic or camp out. There are also hiking and mountain biking trails nearby.
